As the given compound does not react with 2, 4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine it is not an aldehyde or ketone. Further it does not react with metallic sodium it can not be an alcohol. Therefore, the given compound is an ether `(CH_(2)=CH-O-CH_(3))`.
