Reason (R) : H-S bond has more Δbond H° than H-Te bond.

(A) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A.

(B) Both A and R are true but R is not the correct explanation of A.

Option : (A) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A.

H2S is less acidic than H2Te. acidity depends on H-S and H-Te bond dissociation energy higher the bond dissociation energy. Less will be acidity.

On moving down the group the size of the atom increases and ionization enthalpy decreases. This helps to dissociate the bond easily. That's why H2Te is more acidic than H2S.
