Monocytes are mononuclear phagocytic leucocytes that cirulate briefly in the blood stream before migrating into the tissues where it becomes macrophages or into dendritic cells. They protect against infections, kills micro-organisms, ingest foreign particles , remove dead cells and boost immune system.
