(a) Cultural Asanas: These asanas regulate and systematize the activities of body and makes a way to perform pranayam. pratyahara and Dharana etc. are called cultural or corrective asanas.
(b) Meditative Asanas: The asanas which enhances the concentration power of a individual are called meditative Asanas. For example-Padamasana, sidhrasana. They should be performed in peaceful environment.
(c) Relaxative Asanas: Makerasana and Shavasana are main relaxative asanas. These are good for removing physical and mental fatigue. An individual get fully relaxed after performing these asanas
