In the case of regeneration, the organism has the ability to develop the body part which has been lost due to an accident. Many sea stars reproduce asexually by regeneration. For example, if the arm of an individual sea star is broken off it will regenerate a new sea star.

(b) Organisms such as hydra use regenerative cells for reproduction in the process of budding. In hydra, a bud develops as an outgrowth due to repeated cell division at one specific site. These buds develop into tiny individuals and, when fully mature, detach from the parent body and become new independent individuals.

(c) The Rhizopus consists of fine thread-like projections called hyphae. It has a knob like structure which is involved in reproduction called sporangia, containing spores, that develop into new Rhizopus.
