Primary Rainbow Secondary rainbow
(i) It is formed by rays that undergo one total internal reflection and two times refraction before emerging finally from waterdroplets.  (i) It is formed by rays that undergo two internal reflections and two times refraction before emerging finally from waterdroplets.
(ii) Primary rainbow is very bright.  (ii) Secondary rainbow is less bright in comparison to primary rainbow.
