Arun is running along the sides of a rectangular track and Ram is running diagonally. Both started at the same time and before completing one cycle, they meet each other at the opposite vertex of the starting point. What will be the ratio of their speed if the rectangle sides are in the ratio 3 : 2?

Correct Answer - Option 1 : 5 : √13

Calculation:

Let sides of the rectangle are 3k and 2k,

Distance travelled by Arun = 3k + 2k = 5k

Distance travelled by Ram = diagonal 

⇒ √((3k)+ (2k)2) = k√13

Since time is equal,

The ratio of speeds = Ratio of distances

⇒ 5k : k√13

5 : √13
