Correct Answer - Option 2 :  Force pumps

Explanation:

Force Pumps:

  • In the force pump, the body of the pump is immersed in water so that the liquid is introduced into it by simple communication.
  • Moreover, the piston is solid, and the tube used to raise the water, starting from the lower part of the pump, is furnished at the point of junction with a valve that opens towards the outside.
  • The piston in its descending course presses the water, this pressure shuts the valve of the pump and opens that of conducting pipe, and forces the liquid out.
  • Force pumps are also called reciprocating pumps.

Speed Pumps:

  • These pumps are variable speed pumps whose speed can be adjusted manually or automatically used to improve the efficiency of pumping system.
  • This is done by determining the pressure needed at the outlet point and accordingly adjusting the speed at which the motor operates.
  • The motor moves the impeller only enough to push the required amount of fluid, rather than at a constant speed, like in conventional pumps.
  • This reduces energy consumption and wear and tear, and increases the life of the motor.
