Given:

We have to find the ratio of diagonals of a heptagon and a nonagon.

Concept Used:

Number of sides of a heptagon is 7 and the number of sides of a nonagon is 9

Number of diagonals of a polygon with side ‘n’ is {n(n – 3)}/2

Calculation:

Number of diagonals of a heptagon = {7 × (7 – 3)}/2

⇒ 14

Number of diagonals of a nonagon = {9 × (9 – 3)}/2

⇒ 27

The ratio of diagonals of a heptagon and a nonagon is 14 : 27

⇒ 2 : 3

The ratio of diagonals of a heptagon and a nonagon is 2 : 3
