The correct answer is Statement (i) and (ii) are true.

  • Dadabhai Naoroji - “The Grand Old Man of India”
    • First Asian to be a member of the British parliament.
    • Dadabhai Naoroji founded the East Indian Association in London to propagate the cause of India. Hence Statement (ii) is correct. 
    • Founder of, Indian national congress, along with A.O. Hume.
    • "Poverty and un-British rule in India" book was written by him. 
    • The drain of wealth theory is explained in this book. Hence Statement (i) is correct. 
    • According to this theory around one-fourth of India’s revenues went out of the country and added to the resources of England.
    • In1886, 1893 and 1906, he thrice became the President of INCHence Statement (iii) is incorrect.
