  • North America’s coastline is the second-longest of the coastline after Asia.
  • It extended up to 37,000 miles (60,000 km).
  • North America: 
    • North America, is the third-largest continents of the world which lies between the Arctic Circle & Tropic of Cancer.
    • It extends for more than 5,000 miles (8,000 km) to within 500 miles (800 km) of both the Equator & North Pole.
    • It has an east-west extension of 5,000 miles and also covers an area of 9,355,000 square miles approx(24,230,000 square km). 
  • The boundary of North America: 
    • North America is bounded on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the south by the Caribbean Sea. 
    • It has bounded also by the North Atlantic Ocean in the east and on the west by the North Pacific Ocean.
    • To Northeast, Iceland is separated from Greenland by the Denmark Strait. 
    • Alaska(Northwest) is separated from the Aisa by Bering Strait. 
  • Highest & Lowest point of the continent: 
    • Denali (Mount McKinley) in Alaska, is the highest point of the continent, rising 20,310 feet (6,190 meters) above sea level. 
    • Death Valley in California is its lowest point of the continent, at 282 feet (86 meters) below sea level.
