Manufacture of nitric acid by oswwald’s process –
Following are in steps for the manufacture of nitric acid by ostwald’s process–
(i) Ammonia is oxidised to nitric oxide. This reaction is exothermic.
(ii) Nitric oxide combines with oxygen to give nitrogendioxide.
(iii) Nitrogen dioxide so obtained dissolves in water to give nitric acid.
No thus formed is recycled
