The side of the metallic cube is 18 m. It is melted and formed into a cuboid whose length and breadth are 27 m and 6 m respectively. Find the height of the cuboid.

Correct Answer - Option 1 : 36 m

Given:

Side of the cube = 18 m

Length of the cuboid = 27 m

The breadth of the cuboid = 6 m

Formula used:

The volume of cube = a3

Volume of cuboid = l × b × h

Where,

a = side of the cube

l = length of the cuboid

b = breadth of the cuboid

h = height of the cuboid

Concept used:

The volume of cube = Volume of the cuboid

Calculation:

Let the height of the cuboid be h

The volume of cube = Volume of the cuboid

⇒ a3 = l × b × h

⇒ 183 = 27 × 6 × h

⇒ h = (18 × 18 × 18)/(27 × 6)

⇒ h = 36

∴ The height of the cuboid is 36 m.
