Correct Answer - Option 2 : Touch-sensitive

Explanation:

Sensors acts as feedback devices to control the actions of the manipulator arm and an end effector.

A tactile sensor is a device that measures information arising from physical interaction with its environment. Tactile sensors are generally modeled after the biological sense of cutaneous touch which is capable of detecting stimuli resulting from mechanical stimulation, temperature. Hence it is a touch-sensitive sensor.

Non tactile means that the sensor is using a technology that uses non-touching parts. This term non-contact or non-contacting usually refers to a position sensor that can measure movement or displacement in a rotary or linear fashion.

Various feedback devices are classified into two types, they are

1. Tactile sensors

a) Force sensors

b) Position sensors

c) Torque sensors

d) Touch sensors

2. Non Tactile sensors

a) Proximity sensors – Optical proximity sensor, Capacitive sensor, Hall effect sensor, Inductive sensor, Pneumatic sensor, Scanning laser sensor

b) Electro-optical sensors

c) Range imaging sensors
