Correct Answer - Option 1 : x2 + 3x + 2

Given:

The sum of roots = -3

The product of roots = 2

Concept used:

The sum of roots of quadratic equation = -b/a

The product of roots = c/a

Calculation:

The quadratic polynomial is in the form of

P(x) = ax2 + bx + c

According to the question

Sum of roots = -3

⇒ -b/a = -3

Product of roots = 2

⇒ c/a = 2

⇒ a = 1, b = 3 and c = 2

The quadratic polynomial wiil be

P(x) = x2 + 3x + 2

∴ The required quadratic polynomial is x2 + 3x + 2.
