Given:

The perimeters of ΔABC = 35 cm

The perimeters of ΔDEF = 49 cm

And ΔABC ~ ΔDEF

Concept Used:

When ΔABC ~ ΔDEF

ar(ΔABC)/ar(ΔDEF) = (Perimeter of ΔABC)2/(Perimeter of ΔDEF)2

Calculation:

According to the question, we have

(Perimeter of ΔABC)/(Perimeter of ΔDEF) = 35/49

⇒ (Area of ΔABC)/(Area of ΔDEF) = (35)2/(49)2

⇒ (35 × 35)/(49 × 49)

⇒ (5 × 5)/(7 × 7)

⇒ 25/49

∴ The ratio of their area is 25 ∶ 49.
