• On the dissolution of the Lok Sabha, although the Speaker ceases to be a member of the House, he/she does not vacate his/her office.
• Provided further that, whenever the Assembly is dissolved, the Speaker shall not vacate his office until immediately before the first meeting of the Assembly after the dissolution. Hence statements 1 and 3 are correct.
