Jallianwala Bagh Massacre:
- The incident happened in the backdrop of protests against the Rowlatt Act and the subsequent arrest of Dr. Satyapal and Saifuddin Kichlew.
- To control the violence that emerged out after the arrest of the two nationalists, restrictions were imposed on the movement of people and holding the demonstrations in Amritsar.
- But on the day of Baisakhi, April 13, 1919, thousands of people were unaware of the restrictions gathered at Jallianwala Bagh.
