Given

Percentage of rotten mangoes = 15%

Mangoes consumed = 20% of remaining mangoes

Calculation

Let the total kg of mangoes is x

Percentage of rotten mangoes = 15% of x

⇒ 15x/100

Remaining mangoes = (x - 15% of x)

⇒ 85x/100

Mangoes consumed = 20% of (85x/100)

⇒ 17x/100

According to question

(x- 15x/100 - 17x/00) = 408

⇒ (x - 32x/100) = 408

⇒ 68x/100 = 408

⇒ x = (408 × 100)/68

⇒ x = 600

∴ Karan bought 600 kg mangoes
