  • Mica (waste and scrap) is largely produced by the states of Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
  • In Jharkhand, Koderma is the leading producer of Mica. It is located in the Hazaribagh belt of Jharkhand. Jharkhand is quite rich in minerals.
  • The Koderma district and the Lokai-Indarwa area cover the southern part of the Great Mica-Belt of Jharkhand and Bihar.
  • The mica belt stretches from Gurpa in Gaya district in the west through Nawada, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Giridih in Jharkhand and Jamui as well as Bhagalpur district of the Bihar state in the east.
  • Its maximum width is about 40 km in the Koderma-Hazaribagh-Nawada area.
