Correct Answer - Option 3 : Ampere
Electric Current:
  • It is defined as the net amount of electric charge flows through a cross-section of a conductor in an electric circuit in a per unit time.
  • If the number of electrons traveling in any direction will be equal to the number of electrons traveling in the opposite direction. So, there will be no net electric current.
  • S.I unit of electric current is Ampere(A).
  • It is a scalar quantity.

Current density:

  • Current per unit area (taken normal to the current), I/A, is called current density.
  • It is denoted by j.
  • The SI units of the current density are A/m2. (A= Ampere, m= meter).
  • E = j ρ (where, E= uniform electric field, j= current density, ρ= resistivity).
