Rahul goes from his home to a temple at a speed of 54 km/hr and returns at a speed of 72 km/hr. The total time of the journey is 70 minutes. Find the distance between his home and temple in meters

Given : 

Speed of Rahul from home to temple = 54 km/hr 

Speed of Rahul from temple to home = 72 km/hr 

Formula Used: 

Distance = Speed × time 

x km/hr = x × (5/18) m/s 

Calculation: 

let the distance be x 

speed of Rahul in m/s = 54 × (5/18) = 15 m/s

⇒ speed of rahul in return in m/s = 72 × (5/18) = 20 m/s

⇒ Total time = 70 minutes 

⇒ (x/15) + (x/20) = 70 × 60 

⇒ x = (15 × 20 × 70 × 60)/35  = 36000 m 

∴ Distance between his home and temple is 36000 meters
