Correct Answer - Option 2 : Rs. 33,600

Given:

Income A : Income B = 4 : 7

Expenditure A : Expenditure B = 1 : 2

Each of them saves Rs. 4,800

Concept Used:

Income = Savings + Expenditure

Saving = Income – Expenditure

Calculation:

Let the income of A and B be 4x and 7x

The expenditure of A and B be y and 2y

⇒ Savings of A = 4x – y      ----(I)

⇒ Savings of B = 7x – 2y      ----(II)

Saving of A = Saving of B

⇒ 4x – y = 7x – 2y

⇒ y = 3x

Putting the above value in equation I,

⇒ 4x – 3x = 4,800

⇒ x = 4,800

The income of B is 7x,

⇒ 7 × 4,800

⇒ 33,600

∴ The income of B is Rs. 33,600
