Correct Answer - Option 4 : 24 yrs

GIVEN:

C's age = 125% of average

A's age = 66+2/3% of average

B's age = 26 years

FORMULA USED:

Average = Sum of observations/Total number of observations

CALCULATION:

Let the average age of A, B, and C be x years.

Total age = 3x

C's age = 125% = 5/4 of x

A's age = 66+2/3% = 2/3 of x

B's age = total - (A + B)

∴ 3x - 5x/4 - 2x/3 = 26 yrs

(36x - 15x - 8x)/12 = 26

13x = 26 × 12

x = 24 yrs

∴ The average age is 24 years.
