Correct Answer - Option 1 : to make desirable change in behaviour

A teacher (also called a school teacher or, in some contexts, an educator) is a person who helps students to acquire knowledge, competence, or virtue.

  • The process of teaching usually takes place in the classroom. It is a kind of transfer or sharing of knowledge from one person to another.
  • The person who transfers his/her knowledge is known as a teacher and the one who receives is known as taught.
  • One of its special function is to impart knowledge, develop and skill which involves sharing, telling, and demonstrating information. Teaching is a relationship that is established among three focal points in education-the teacher, the student, and the subject matter.
  • Teaching is a process by which the teacher brings the student and the subject matter together. It is not only telling and testing, it is the complex art of guiding students through a variety of experiences and activities towards the attainment of goals.

The ultimate goal of teaching is to impart learning. Student's desire to learn is vital to mastering new concepts, principles, and skills.

  • The goal of teaching is to make a desirable change in behaviour.
  • Teaching is purposeful and goal-directed which ends at desired changes of learners’ behaviour. When the desires and goals are fulfilled teaching is effective. Therefore, the purpose or goal is the pivot around which the entire system of learning and teaching resolves.
  • The teacher brings desired changes in the behaviour of the pupils by the influence of his teaching and goal-directed which ends at desired changes of learners' behaviour.
  • Teachers can create a very dynamic environment within the classroom that can help to prepare students for the future.
  • A teacher’s role is to make judgments about how best to help their students learn in the environments in which they teach. They generally do so competently, thoughtfully, and with appropriate caution, in consideration of their own values and those of their students and other stakeholders.

Thus, it is concluded that The goal of teaching is to make a desirable change in behaviour.
