Correct Answer - Option 1 : O-

The correct answer is O-.

  • Except for O, cells of groups A, B, AB contain antigens.
  • Therefore O can give his blood to any group and is called a universal donor.
  • The AB group is called Universal Recipient because it can take blood from all blood groups A, B, AB, and O.

  • In the years 1900–1902, K. Landsteiner divided human blood into four groups — A, B, AB, and O.
  • Blood is a red-colored fluid that circulates in our body.
  • It is red in color because hemoglobin has a red color found in its red cells.
  • Blood is connective tissue, four things are found in it -
  • Plasma, red blood cells (red blood cells or RBCs), white blood cells (white blood cells or WBCs), and platelets (oocytes).

  • World Blood Donor Day is observed every year on 14 June.
  • The blood transfusion technique was first developed by James Blundell in 1825.
  • Rh factor is a type of blood antigen discovered in 1940 by Landsteiner and A.K. s. was done by Veneer.
