Given

On selling 17 balls at Rs. 720, there is a loss equal to the cost price of 5 ball. 

Concept used

Profit and loss

Calculation

Let the cost price of 1 ball = Rs.x

Loss = CP - SP

As per the question,

⇒ 17x - 720 = 5x

⇒ 12x = 720 

⇒ x = 60

CP of 1 ball is Rs.60
