Correct Answer - Option 4 : 40

Given:

The ratio of telephone bill paid by A, B and C = 3 : 5 : 7

Bill paid by A = Rs. 360

Bill paid by B = Rs. 560

Bill paid by C = Rs. 840

Calculations:

Let the bill paid by A, B and C is 3x, 5x and 7x respectively

⇒ 7x = 840

⇒ x = 840 ÷ 7

⇒ x = 120

Bill payable to B is 5x

⇒ 120 × 5 = 600

Bill paid by B is 560

Remaining amount to be paid by B = 600 – 560 = 40

∴ The amount B pays to settle the accounts is Rs. 40
