Correct Answer - Option 1 : Adiabatic expansion

The correct answer is Adiabatic expansion.

  • Adiabatic expansion
    • It is defined as an ideal behavior for a closed system, in which the temperature is decreasing and the pressure is constant.
  • Adiabatic compression
    • It is defined as the compression in which no heat is added or the internal energy of the air and subtracted from the air is increased which is equal to the external work done on the air.
  • The adiabatic process can be either irreversible or reversible.
  • The essential conditions for the adiabatic process are following
    • From the surrounding, The system must be perfectly insulated.
    • It (process) must be carried out quickly so that there is enough time for heat transfer to take place.

  • An example of the Adiabatic process is the pendulum oscillating in a vertical plane.
  • The release of air from a pneumatic tire is also the simplest example of the Adiabatic process.
