  • ACAROLOGY
    • The study of mites and ticks is known as Acarology.  
    • These animals belong to the class Arachnida of Phylum Arthropoda.
    • Mites and ticks are few species that have economic importance as they transmit diseases to humans, other animals, and plants.
  • CETOLOGY
    • The branch of science dealing with animals belonging to the order Cetacea is known as Cetology.
    • The order Cetacea comprises marine mammals like whales, dolphins, and porpoises.
    • Cetology is a tough branch as studying cetaceans is a challenging task for the below-mentioned reasons. However, their dung provides important information about their diet. 
  • These animals only spend 10% of their time on the surface, that too just for breathing.
