  • Subhash Chandra Bose
    • He was affectionately called Netaji and was one of the most prominent leaders of the Indian Freedom Struggle.
    • He acknowledged Chittaranjan Das as his political guru.
    • He was elected President of the Haripura Congress Session in 1938.
    • He was re-elected as the President of Congress in Tripuri Session in 1939.
    • He formed a progressive group called Forward Block.
    • In January 1941, Subhas Chandra Bose disappeared from his home and reached Germany.
    • In July 1943, He arrived in Singapore and formed Azad Hind Fauj with Rash Behari Bose.
    • The members of Azad Hind Fauj comprises mainly of Indian Prisoners of War.
    • He was reported to be killed in an air crash over Taipeh, Taiwan on 8 August 1945.
    • However, his death is still a mystery as many authors, reporters and historians do not believe that he died in the plane crash.
