Correct Answer - Option 2 : Design alternate teaching learning and assessment methods

visually impaired child is the one who has a problem seeing in the naked eyes or is not able to see completely. It is possible to include visually challenged learners in regular classes. The earlier the efforts are taken towards inclusion, the better the results will be. It is ideal to have resource rooms in every elementary school with a competent resource teacher. It includes-

  • Design alternate teaching-learning methods: It means planning for teaching, coordination between the class teacher and parents, resource teacher and others depending on the needs of the child, teaching based on individual needs, teaching in groups, material requirement, documentation systems.
  • Design alternate assessment methods: A special educator, also known as an itinerant teacher, generally visits the home of the student and appraises the child and the environment in which he lives. The family and the teacher decide on the periodicity of the visit of the teacher and the suitable time. After a detailed assessment, an educational plan is developed with suitable goals and objectives.

Hence, in an inclusive Mathematics classroom, for addressing the needs of visually challenged learners, we would design alternate teaching learning and assessment methods.
