Correct Answer - Option 3 : 400

Given:

Passing % = 40%

Charul got = 139 marks

More marks required to pass = 21 marks

Formula Used:

Total marks × Passing% = Passing Marks

Calculation:

Let assume that total marks = x

Passing marks = Charul scored + Less mark

⇒ Passing marks = 139 + 21 = 160

Total marks × Passing% = Passing Marks

⇒ x × 40% = 160

⇒ x = 160 × 100/40

⇒ x = 400

∴ Total marks is 400
