Best answer

1. Every part of a lens forms an image.

2. For formation of image we require only two light rays to converge.

3. Therefore, if the lower half of the lens is covered, it will still form a complete image.

4. However the intensity of the image will be reduced.

5. This can be verified experimentally by observing the image of distant object like tree on a screen, when lower half of the lens covered with a black paper.
