Correct Answer - Option 3 : Instantaneous process

The correct answer is option 3) i.e. Instantaneous process

CONCEPT:

  • Photoelectric effect: The photoelectric effect is a phenomenon where electrons are ejected from a metal surface when the light of sufficient frequency is incident on it.
    • The ejected electrons are called photoelectrons.
    • Typically, the time lag between the incidence of light and emission of electrons is less than or equal to 10-9 s.

EXPLANATION:

  • Since the time lag is negligibly small, the photoelectric effect can be assumed to be an instantaneous process.

Isochoric process
  • It is a process where the change in volume is zero.
  • As the change in volume is zero, the work done is zero.
Adiabatic process
  • It is a process in which no heat is exchanged between the system and the surrounding i.e. the system is insulated.
  • It is represented mathematically as PVγ = constant
