On 13 December 1946, Jawaharlal Nehru moved the historicObjectives Resolution’ in the Assembly.

  • It laid down the fundamentals and philosophy of the constitutional structure.
  • It influenced the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
  • It was adopted on 22 January 1947. 
  • Drafting Committee:
    • Drafting Committee set up on 29 August 1947.
    • Dr B.R. Ambedkar is the Chairman of the Drafting Committee.
    • It was this committee that was entrusted with the task of preparing a draft of the new constitution.
