Correct Answer - Option 1 : Precipitation

The correct answer is Precipitation.

  • Sleet is a form of Precipitation.
  • The icy precipitation known as sleet forms when a thin layer of warmer air comes between layers of cold air.
  • A top layer of below-freezing air creates ice crystals that melt as they fall through a thin layer of above-freezing air.
  • If there's enough room between the warmer air and the ground, the water droplets re-freeze in a bottom layer of below-freezing air and fall as sleet.

  • A cyclone is a system of winds rotating counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere around a low-pressure center.
  • The swirling air rises and cools, creating clouds and precipitation.
  • There are two types of cyclones:
    • middle latitude (mid-latitude) cyclones and tropical cyclones.
    • Mid-latitude cyclones are the main cause of winter storms in the middle latitudes.
    • Tropical cyclones have many names.
    • They are called hurricanes in the North Atlantic and eastern Pacific oceans, typhoons in the western Pacific Ocean, tropical cyclones in the Indian Ocean, and Willi-Willi's in the waters near Australia.
  • Greenhouse gases are gases in Earth’s atmosphere that trap heat.
  • They let sunlight pass through the atmosphere, but they prevent the heat that the sunlight brings from leaving the atmosphere.
  • The main greenhouse gases are:
    • Water vapor
    • Carbon dioxide
    • Methane
    • Ozone
    • Nitrous oxide
    • Chlorofluorocarbons
