  • Golkonda fort was built by the Kakatiya dynasty in the 13th century. 
  • It is also known as"Shepherd's Hill" or "Golla Konda".
  • Golconda Fort of Hyderabad was built by the Kakatiya dynasty in the 13th century.
  • Muhammad Quli Qutab Shah established Hyderabad in 1591 to extend the capital beyond the fortified Golconda.

 

  • Kakatiya dynasty ruled over a small region near Warangal.
    • Prataparudra founded a sovereign kingdom in 1163 CE.
  • The most powerful rulers of the dynasty were Ganapathi Deva and Rudramadev.

Maurya

Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the empire. 

Kautilya or Chanakya, who was his guide and mentor, both in acquiring a throne and in keeping it.

The other powerful rulers of this dynasty were - Bindusara, Ashoka.

Chalukyas

The Chalukya dynasty was established by Pulakeshin I in 543 AD. Pulakeshin I took Vatapi under his control and made it his capital.

Pulakeshin II was the most famous ruler who extended the Chalukya Empire up to the northern extents of the Pallava kingdom.

Some of the famous temples made during their reign were - Virupaksha temple, Mallikarjuna temple, Durga temple, etc.

Gupta

The Guptas ruled around 300 AD to 600 AD. It was founded by Srigupta.

The Gupta Period is popularly known as the ‘Golden Age of India’.

The most famous rulers of this dynasty were - Chandragupta I, Samudragupta, Chandragupta II, Kumaragupta, etc.
