Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 3 : increase by 3.04%

Given:

Increase in Length = 12%

Decrease in Breadth = 8%

Formula Used:

Increase in Area = +(Length %) - (Breadth %) - [(Length × Breadth)/100]

Calculation:

Increase in Area = (12%) - (8%) - [(12 × 8)/100]

⇒ Increase in Area = (4 - 0.96)%

⇒ Increase in Area = 3.04%

∴ The increase in area will be 3.04%
