Correct Answer - Option 1 : applying conditioning process

Behavior is simply a response to environmental stimuli. The behavioristic approach states that all behaviors are learned through the interaction with the environment through a process named “conditioning”.

  • Conditioning is used to remove the bad habits and to form good habits among students. Giving strict punishments to the students will only arouse the feeling of inferiority among them.

Conditioning

  • It includes Skinner’s operant conditioning and Pavlov's classical conditioning. Ivan Pavlov is known as the father of conditioning.
  • To get the desired response without any natural stimuli we use a conditioned or artificial stimuli in combination with natural stimuli.
  • But thereafter, we will decrease the frequency and later completely remove the natural stimuli.
  • As a result, we can bring out the particular response just by giving that conditioned stimuli.
  • This technique is used for making individuals learn difficult and complex behaviors and also for introducing desirable modifications in behavior.

Hence, it could be concluded that good habits can be formed in the children by applying conditioning process.

    Classical conditioning

 Operant conditioning

It helps in the learning of desired behavior of the individual who gives a response to stimuli.

It helps in learning the operant behavior i.e., it happens suddenly and naturally without giving any particular stimuli after its occurrence reinforcement is being provided.

It is called S-type conditioning as it gives importance to the stimuli.

It is called R-type conditioning as it gives importance to the responses.

The beginning is made with the help of a specific stimulus that brings certain responses.

Here, the beginning is made with naturally occurring responses and later they happen repeatedly and consciously because of reinforcement provided.

The strength of the conditioning depends upon the magnitude of the conditioned response.

The strength of the conditioning depends upon the responses.
