Correct Answer - Option 3 : Zero

Concept:

  • Electric charge is acquired by the transfer of electrons.
  • It is having an SI unit coulomb.
  • Potential difference: Work done in bringing a unit positive charge from one point to another is called the potential difference. It is having a unit volt.
  • The equipotential surface is the surface having the same potential.
  • Potential difference = Work done / Time

\(Volt = \frac{Joule}{charge}\)

Explanation:

Charge q = 10 C

Potential V = 5 Volt

Work done = W

Work done = Charge × potential difference

But here the charges are at the same potential.

Work done is zero as there is no potential difference as charges move on the equipotential surface.

So the correct option is zero.
