  • Dileep Padgaonkar, an eminent journalist and intellectual, died after a brief illness in Pune, Maharashtra. 
  • Together with Prof. Radha Kumar and Information Commissioner Prof. M M Ansari, Mr. Padgaonkar was part of the three-member team of interlocutors appointed by the Union Government in 2010 to devise a peace roadmap in conflict-ridden Jammu and Kashmir.
  • He also worked in Paris and Bangkok for UNESCO from 1978 to 1986.
