Correct Answer - Option 4 : 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 4

Given

A, B and C invested Rs. 7200, 8400 and 9600 respectively.

If the ratio of their profit earned is 3 ∶ 7 ∶ 16.

Calculation

Let the time for which A invested its capital = x years

The time for which B invested its capital = y years

The time for which C invested its capital = Z years

A’s profit = (share × Time)A = 7200 × x

B’s profit = (share × Time)B = 8400 × y

C’s profit = (share × Time)C = 9600 × z

Ratio of profits = 6x ∶ 7y ∶ 8z         ---(1)

The ratio of their profits is given in the question = 3 ∶ 7 ∶ 16         ---(2)

On equating the above ratios we get x ∶ y ∶ z = 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 4
