Correct Answer - Option 1 : 4.5 years

Given:

Ratio of ages of two sisters = 5 : 3

Difference between their ages = 3 years

Calculation:

Let the ages of two sisters be 5x and 3x.

⇒ Difference between their ages = 5x – 3x = 2x

According to the question,

2x = 3 years

⇒ x = 1.5 years

Age of younger sister = 3x

⇒ 3 × 1.5 = 4.5 years

The age of younger sister is 4.5 years
