Correct Answer - Option 1 : 10000

Given:

The population of a village increases by 10% annually and its present population is 12100.

Calculations:

Let the population 2 years ago be x.

so, x × (110/100) × (110/100) = 12100

⇒ x × (11/10) × (11/10) = 12100

⇒ x × (121/100) = 12100

⇒ x = 10000

∴ the correct answer is 10000.
