  • The largest national association of doctors Indian Medical Association (IMA) of the modern scientific system of medicine, has announced its support and efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) in the Bihar state as a part of the "End TB" program launched by the government of India.
  • In the year 2018, the Capital of Bihar (Patna) notified 17939 from the private health care sector and 3221 notifications from the public health sector at the notification rate of 317 per lakh population.
  • In the same year, the state notified 41224 patients from the private sector and 64363 patients from the public sector respectively with a notification rate of 88 per lakh population.
  • The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is working to protect doctors in the private sector to increase information and work toward the cause of ending TB by optimal utilization of the NIKSHAY app.
  • The NIKSHAY is a phone app that allows doctors to get notified by the TB patients through a simple interface that also helps in TB patient care and management.

  • Dr. Robert Kooch was the inventor of Tuberculosis(TB). Every year in India on 24th March TB day is celebrated.
