  • Article 21A deals with the Right to Education.
    • This article states that the State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of six to fourteen years in such manner as the State may, by law, determine.
    • The 86th amendment to the constitution of India in 2002, provided Right to Education as a fundamental right in Part-III of the Constitution. Tapas Majumdar Committee (1999) was set up, which encompassed the insertion of Article 21A.

  • Article 18 deals with the Abolition of Titles.
    • No title, not being a military or academic distinction, shall be conferred by the State.
    • No citizen of India shall accept any title from any foreign State. 
  • Article 20 has taken care to safeguard the rights of persons accused of crimes.
    • It says that no person shall be convicted of any offence except for violation of a law in force at the time of the commission of the Act charged as an offence, nor be subjected to a penalty greater than that which might have been inflicted under the law in force at the time of the commission of the offence.
  • Article 14
    • Equality before the law.
    • The state shall not deny to any person equality before the law or equal protection law within the territory of India.
