Correct Answer - Option 2 : 3

According to question,

Let us assume there are x persons in the group,

5x + 1 = 8(x – 1)

5x + 1 = 8x – 8

3x = 9

x = 3

So, there are 3 persons in the group.

Hence, ‘3’ is the correct answer.
