Correct Answer - Option 2 : Part III of the Constitution

The correct answer is Part III of the Constitution.

  • Fundamental Rights of the Indian citizens are enshrined in Part III of the Indian Constitution.
  • Article 12 to Article 35 of the Indian constitution deals with the Fundamental Rights.
  • Part III of the Indian constitution is also called the "Magna Carta of India".
  • Fundamental Rights are justiciable in nature.

  • In the original constitution, there were seven categories of Fundamental Rights;
    1. Right to equality.
    2. Right to freedom.
    3. Right against exploitation.
    4. Right to freedom of religion.
    5. Cultural and educational rights.
    6. Right to constitutional remedies.
    7. Right to property.
  • The right to property was deleted from the list of Fundamental Rights by the 44th amendment act 1978.
  • At present, there are only 6 categories of Fundamental Rights.
  • Right to property is a legal right now (not a Fundamental Right).
