  • Rajya Sabha-
    • Rajya Sabha is known as the Upper house of the Indian Parliament.
    • Article 80 of the Indian Constitution lays down the maximum strength of Rajya Sabha as 250, out of which 12 members are nominated by the President and 238 are representatives of the States and of the two Union Territories.
    • Vice President of India will act as Ex-Officio Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
  • Lok Sabha-
    • Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India has a maximum strength of 552 allotted by the Constitution of India.
    • Out of these, 545 seats are currently occupied in Lok Sabha, in which 543 seats are elected by direct election while a maximum of 2 seats is filled by nominated members of the Anglo-Indian Community by the President of India.
  • Note-
    • Money Bills can be introduced only in Lok Sabha. 
    • Money bills passed by the Lok Sabha are sent to the Rajya Sabha.
    • The amended suggested by the Rajya Sabha can either be accepted by the Lok Sabha or may be rejected.
    • Before the introduction of the money bill in the Lok Sabha, the assent of the President is important.
